Today Today we did a lot with Regular Preterite. I gave out stamps for Napoleon Dynamite Homework. We did some speaking activities. On one of them you asked classmates in tú and they answered in yo and then on the back your homework was to write sentences about those people in third person. Ejemplo "Jonas no montó su bici a la escuela"
I also gave you your Irregular Preterite packets. You will be receiving a paper indicating the due dates and points for these packets on Thursday. Third will have a sub for part of the period and Fourth will have a sub for the entire period. You received your green calendars already and will get stamps for ABC on Tuesday. You have until Tuesday to do Duolingo. You have until Thursday to re-take 6B or Imperfect. I will put your calendars in on Tuesday. Third term will be complete and we can move ahead to the 4th and final term of this year!!!! Wow!

I was gone today facilitating for Be The Change. I promised extra credit to the students that were able to take the 2 tests (verb quiz 6B and Imperfect) and behave perfectly: no cheating, no seat changing, no phones out, etc. I was able to give out un montón de extra credit to many of my students. Some (a very few) were unable to receive these points:) We will correct these tests together on Monday. They are the last tests that will go on 3rd term. You were given stamps for Regular Preterite assignment and received a homework paper with a scene from Napoleon Dynamite to conjugate in Preterite. A few of them were circled because they were irregular so you were given a paper with Irregular Preterite verbs to assist you.
Today I answered a lot of the questions that you submitted. Some of which were: 1. Why do we have so many tests and quizzes? Answer: Because if it doesn't count towards your grade, you won't study it:) 2. Could you go over time? Answer: There are many resources for this information. My favorite one was: Telling Time 3. Why do we have to go to the Spanish lab in order to do Duolingo. We already have 6 other classes. Answer: The requirement for Duolingo is 100% on your calendar. If you are missing stamps due to excessive absences or not doing your homework when due, then you have the privilege of going to the Spanish lab to make up those stamps. Duolingo is an extra credit privilege that is reserved for my dedicated students. 4. What is the meaning of life? Answer: to learn even if you don't think it is relevant or important: you are learning something! 5. Could you go over homework more? Answer: Yes, and I did today? 6. Could you explain the verb tree again? Answer: Yes, and I did. You can also look it up on that thing that is permanently attached to your hand. 7. Could you go over things more? Answer: Yes, and my board was covered today with explanations for things that we were doing. 8. Could you do more speaking and listening activities? Answer: Yes, we did a speaking assessment today. We will be doing more of those and songs in the future. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT!!! I gave all of my periods seating charts. Although some classes are better behaved than others. It is a good idea to switch things up and I have chatty problems in all of my classes. We have a sub on Thursday. We also have Imperfect and 6B quiz. You can earn extra credit by being on your best behavior on Thursday. You will receive a worksheet on Napoleon Dynamite for Tarea. You will also get this great cheat sheet for any irregulars. Today was our Fiesta de San Valentín. You got your stamps for Childhood Story in Imperfect. Today was your only opportunity to turn in the extra credit translation of the childhood paragraph. We did some fun activities during our party. We started a question jar. Homework for Tuesday is The Goldilocks packet: All of it!! We will have 6B and a quiz on Imperfect (ía aba verb with 3 irregulars (SER, IR, VER) on Thursday next week. We will also be getting seating charts on Tuesday.
Today we reviewed imperfect (ía, aba verb) I made sure all of your homework was done correctly in order to receive stamps. The new homework is a Goldilocks packet practicing the differences between the two past tenses (imperfect - ongoing action in the past and preterite- completed action in the past) The packets are due next Tuesday. The Childhood Paragraph where you just conjugated each verb in the Imperfect is due on Thursday. There is an extra credit opportunity to translate the paragraph. There is a possible 10 points depending on how well it is translated. THIS HAS TO BE TURNED IN BY THURSDAY!!! - If you are sick, send it to school with a friend, parent or sibling. Extra Credit is a privilege not a requirement!! Don't forget to bring your food assignment for the Fiesta on Thursday!!!! Happy Valentine's Day!!
Today we had an Advisory Day. I gave you time to work on your Spain Test and Alejandro Test. We will take some time to correct another class's Spain Test on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. You receive your sello for the other imperfect homework but it needs to be correct to receive the stamp:) We will turn in pesos, sign up for Valentine's Day party and either take a Alejandro vocabulary quiz or an Imperfect Quiz after doing an activity to review Imperfect.
