Today we are doing several things. Everyone must present their Bienvenidas at the scheduled time in order to move forward and get them all in by the end of term. I introduced our Locura de Marzo Music Brackets and you listened to the songs. Then you filled out your brackets, took pictures of your bracket and submitted them on canvas. I also introduced you to the film competition and asked you to sign up for the type that you would like to do. I introduced the vocabulary for Unit 4 Where I went and What I did. I gave you a worksheet on Preterite Tense Conjugations and assigned you verbs from this unit to memorize their definitions. We will also do a verb conjugation test next week. There are great Quizlets on Canvas to study for the vocabulary, conjugations, etc. We will probably have three quizzes before the end of the term. Stay on top of them! Hopefully these last few weeks will be more fun than stress as we will be listening to the fun music this month. It is also a fun unit as we get to talk about fun things that we have done.

Today we took the second and third portions of the Unit 3 - Comemos IPA. You should have a grade for your speaking and your writing IPA's. You do not RETAKE these and they must be completed by this Friday February 25!!!!
We will be doing a Locura De Marzo activity this month with other spanish classes across the world. On Thursday we will be filling out our brackets and submitting our first votes. We will also be discussing on Friday the Film Festival coming up in March. This is an extra credit opportunity available for Term 4 and is SUPER FUN!! We will be learning past tense for UNIT 4 - Where I went and What I did. The IPA for this unit won't be until The end of March but we will have some vocabulary and verb quizzes from this unit that will be on Term 3. Please remember to go to the Spanish lab if you haven't already this term. Also YOU MUST DO YOUR BIENVENIDA ON THE DAY THAT YOU HAVE SIGNED UP. WE WILL NOT LOAD THEM ALL UP IN ONE DAY! Today we reviewed with a Gimkit and I reminded you about Chancho being pork and las zanahorrias are carrots. Then we took the Task 1 of the Unit 3 IPA on Comida. We will do the other two versions on Thursday. All assignments are either past due or some are available until tonight but then we test and the unit is OVER and we start our next one!
Today when you came in there was a list of some things that you could do to prepare for the IPA on Tuesday. You had to complete at least 70 points worth of things.
No bienvenidas today because I will be gone to a meeting A1-A3. You have several assignments to do on Canvas.
You will be asked to turn in your homework assignment if you didn't do turn it in last time.
Friday I will have several activities to do to help prepare you all for the IPA's next week. Today we pulled out the description and comparison papers that we did last time.
We used a key to highlight certain portions
Then you used the colors to see
Then I taught you a short lesson on Por y Para and gave you a worksheet to practice writing sentences with por y para. You turned in BOTH papers. The Por y Para paper was assigned as homework if you didn't complete it and you will be asked to turn it in at the start of class. The Ipa for this food unit is next week. It will cover:
My website was down for the last few days. Last week we finished all make-ups for Future and Conditional, some make-ups for the Food Spelling Test. We will allow final retakes of food spelling Monday and Tuesday of this week. We will be practicing for the IPA next week and taking it el quince and el diecisiete de febrero before your long weekend.
Last time we had a bunch of words on the board and I passed around a variety of "platos" I cut out from magazines. You wrote about the dishes and then what they contained. Then you commented on what you liked or disliked about them. Then you did the same thing for a different dish and finally compared the two using words like me gustan las pizzas que tienen las peperonis pero sin las cebollas porque no me gustan las cebollas. We will be going through those today. We also reviewed this googleslide that had common mistakes and you offered suggestions to correct them. |
