Today we took all 3 quizzes!
We will have the Día de Los Muertos Fiesta on Monday, November 1, 2021. You need to bring a food item or what you signed up for. This is required, not extra credit. We will have another quiz next week which will include being able to spell the vocabulary. So you can start studying now:) We will also do things on the day of the party for points so please come!! After the quizzes we watches this movie and took notes. Then we had some questions that you had to answer in full sentences.

Today we started with a quizziz for review of pronouns. We went over the correct answers together. Then we did a gimkit review on ar, ir er verb conjugations. We went over the answers of these as well. Then we did 2 worksheets. The first on was on adverbs of frequency. Then second one was about La Rutina Diaria of Pablo. There were blanks for verb conjugations, times of day and some basic vocabulary words. You turned them in at the end of the period. Thursday you will have quizzes on Prounouns, Verb Conjugations, and the Unit Vocabulary. You will have 2 weeks to come in after school and re-take them as many times as you need. After 2 weeks, you won't be able to make-up those points. The deadline will be November 11th. You continue to receive extra credit points for being on-time to class. Classwork assignments will be going into Skyward as well. If that work isn't made up within the week of doing them, you will not be able to make up that work either.
Those students who were present and on time took an extra credit bell quiz on the vocabulary for the unit. (That was your homework= to know the vocabulary) In Canvas there is a quizlet, a quizziz and a gimkit to study the vocabulary. We did a yellow worksheet reviewing pronouns. Then we went online through Canvas to the Practice Verb Conjugation assignment, clicked on the second link and reviewed ar, er and ir verb conjugations. Next time I will expect you to know all of your pronouns and what they mean and all of the regular ar, er and ir verb conjugations. (Click on Regular Verb, create a quiz, and practice all three) You can use the above referenced link to learn about and study these if you don't already know them. Then we watched a goofy youtube video explaining how to conjugate reflexive verbs using the appropriate reflexive pronouns. Bell quizzes are extra credit and cannot be made up. Bell quizzes will be on homework from previous period.
The SPANISH LAB IS OPEN!!! This is an ASSIGNMENT! You must go to room 232 and speak for 30 minutes during 1 30-minute lunch period during the term. It is worth extra credit at the beginning of the term. It is just worth the assignment points mid-term and it is worth fewer points towards the end of the term. You will receive a 0 if: you never go, try to get in once and it is full and don't go back. Try to go the last week of the term and you can't get in. DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!! Today we really dove into our new unit La Rutina Diaria. You have already received a key vocabulary list and you had been assigned to define all of the words. We took some time to make sure that we are pronouncing all of the words correctly. We discussed how reflexive verbs have different meaning than non-reflexive verbs. We memorized a lot of the definitions of the verbs from the unit. You were assigned to have the vocabulary memorized by Friday, using the tools provided on Canvas.
Today we had an intro to our new unit: Daily Routines. I handed out the key vocabulary and you were asked to translate the words into English. I showed everyone how to use the word reference dictionary and verb conjugator. I also gave you a verb worksheet with Ser and Estar and Tener y Querer. I had you hang on to them to turn in next Wednesday, the first day of term 2. Wednesday the 13th was a short day. I offered extra credit to students who were here to color some sugar skeleton pictures for the decor for month of October. I will not offer that particular extra credit to students who weren't here. There will be more opportunities. !Buenas vacaciones!
This week we took the IPA's Reading, Speaking and Writing for Unit 1. This is where you show me what you have learned! These are not re-takable. Scores are guaranteed to be in by Wednesday but I am definitely hoping to have them in before that. Everything else is due Friday, October 8 by 2:45 pm. Next week we will begin Unit 2.
Today we reviewed your rubrics so that you know what you have to be able to do on your written ipa. We took some sentences from some students' green writing papers. We added information like colors or with stripes. We added words like porque or y or pero or cuando to make the sentence longer. You could say what you wouldn't wear in that situation. We played a Bingo competition and we got your green papers back so that could try to make your answers better. The last 3 things on Skyward will be the Reading IPA on Tuesday and the Speaking and Writing IPAs on Thursday. Grades are final on October 8th and the term ends on October 13. I will add some helps on Canvas if you want to study over the weekend.
