Today we discussed Stress and how to cope with it. We read through all of the Canvas Link entitled Coping with Stress, Loss and Grief. Be sure to watch the Ted Talk embedded in the reading entitled How to Make Stress Your Friend. As part of the lesson I showed this PowerPoint on Coping Strategies. Remember there is no shame or judgment when dealing with coping strategies of ours or those we know. We are all dealing with stressors in our lives and can only do what we can do at any given time. My goal is to give you the power and knowledge to make m stress your friend, recognize how going through and figuring out how to best cope with our challenges as they come, because THEY WILL COME. I also passed out your Resiliency project due the first week of February. Note this part of your Canvas Reading and put it in your phone. You may have noticed that even positive coping skills don’t always help us solve problems directly. They just give us some space in which to prepare to face the stressor. Eventually we need to go and face whatever we are struggling with. Take a few minutes to think about the stresses you experience. (I’d like you to write your thoughts on a piece of paper as you work through the following questions.)
