Today we had a surprise speaker, Mr. Sears from the counseling department. He spoke about stress: Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand. You can have three different types of stress responses: physical, mental, and emotional. Worry and Stress are about real things. Anxiety is horriblized thoughts. We need to recognize our stress symptoms and ask ourselves, "Is this a real concern or have I exaggerated the situation having anxiety?" We need the positive type of stress-eustress in our lives to get things done. The negative type of stress or distress can cause all kinds of problems in our life.
